      New Orleans

At St. Charles Avenue and Canal Street, the two remaining streetcar lines in New Orleans meet and interchange passengers. The green car is on the St. Charles line, which loops back here while the Canal St. line continues on down to the harbor, at right. The colorful architecture is typical of The Big Easy.

When talking about N'Awlins, most people talk about the French Quarter. So named for it's colorful, european-inspired architecture, it's a charming bunch of nicely detailed buildings housing all kinds of bars, hideaways, speciality shops, and of course gift shops. You can hire a wagon like these and enjoy a slow ride around the quarter.

Here's another example of the buildings around Jackson Square. Note the beautifully detailed railings and pillars. These turn an otherwise simple building into a real gem.
